The ambiance is a mix of a whole bunch of different vibes, but a fun spot to go to with friends. Very cute mural and wall decor. The tacos are perfectly balanced mix of flavors. The naan is also incredible. One of the best Indian spots I've been to.

Stopped by here after shopping at Chelsea's Market. Was a great quick meal! I ordered the lamb taco. One was enough for me. It had so much lamb curry in it. Great flavor with just the right amount of spice. The naan was yummy too. It was too difficult to eat it as a taco, so I ate it with my fork. This gave plenty of time for the curry to soak into the naan- DELISH! Toppings tasted fresh. My mom's tikka masala was a tad too sweet for me, but it was still delicious, especially when mixed with my lamb curry. Employees were nice and the food came out fast. There was a huge Frida mural inside the restaurant, which would make for a great photo op. Lots of out door seating; perfect on a mid June day. Would definitely come back again!

I stumbled upon this place and am so impressed! I got the lamb curry bowl and loved it. the bowl comes with rice, delicious daal, some guac, a little lettuce, and a lot of the protein of your choice. It's super flavorful and the portion is really generous. Really happy I found this place.

We stopped by for a "life-changing taco" as part of a food tour, and I am happy to report that the description was accurate. The chicken tikka taco (on pliable roti) is one of the most delicious things I have eaten in some time. The spices and sauces were delectable, and the chicken portion was generous and nicely cooked. We didn't try anything else (quick stop) but the biryani and other dishes I saw looked delish, and while the space is small, it's bright and welcoming. I'm looking forward to going back for more!

Taco Mahal was a very unique experience. I've never seen an Indian/Mexican fusion, but this was a delight. The restaurant is small, but it is nicely decorated and the seating areas are comfortable. The three Roti Tacos were VERY GOOD and an excellent choice. The protein was the Chicken Tikka Masala (Chicken breast marinated in yogurt and herbs, skewered, roasted, and then simmered in a creamy sweet tomato sauce with fenugreek leaves). The Garlic & Cheese Naan was just as flavorful and both selections were filling. Don't hesitate to give Taco Mahal a try. You will be impressed with the delightful fusion and the friendly service.

1/1 Ambience; 1.5/2 Food + Beverages; 1/1 Service; 1/1 Value Taco Mahal is a fast-casual joint serving up desi classics in a fun, vibrant atmosphere. The walls boast colorful artwork of South Asian and Mexican cultural icons by the indoor seating area (outdoor seating is available in warm weather). The staff was helpful and friendly, and service was quick and made to order in an open kitchen. I got a chicken tikka masala on a regular naan, which was served with a green chutney, onions, cabbage, and arugula. The naan was fresh, and it was very fluffy with a light char on the bottom. The chicken was white meat, well seasoned, and very flavorful. My only qualm was the masala was not that spicy and lacked smokey flavor from a tandoor. Taco Mahal was on my radar for a long time, and I am so glad I finally made it out. My order of the chicken tikka masala on a naan with a jarritos amounted to a little over $15, and the portion left me full and satisfied. They certainly did not skimp on the portion of chicken and the cutlery came in helpful at the end! I would definitely recommend! Also they serve 100% halal meat for Muslims who keep halal.

For those that know my reviews if there is anything that I am a big fan of, it's good food at a reasonable price. Taco Mahal fits that bill of delicious somewhat cheap eats. I've gotten their food to go countless number of times whether it be a chicken tikka with rice or paneer with rice or one of those options in roll format. Everything I've had has all been tasty and filling. The ambiance is pretty casual and I would compare it to like an Indian chipotle. The space itself is pretty tiny but seemingly always packed the many times I've gone. Orders get processed pretty quickly. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 10 minutes for my to go food order. The West Village has lots of great casual spots that are delicious and Taco Mahal is one of them.
